"Scan directories now" - not working

I managed to restore my album after my Internet provider accidentally wiped out my account.

Even before that event, my SCAN DIRECTORIES NOW had been behaving badly. It went to a blank screen with "Done" indicated at the bottom of the Explorer screen, but new files had not been found.

That may (or may not) have happened around the time that I had added a picture, SCANNED, and then modified it and put it back with the same name and scanned again.

SOMETIMES, the overnight scan worked, other times, not. With the restoration of my files, something ELSE may now be wrong, as well.

SYSTEM CHECK now only gives me back a blank screen also. The LOG generally does not work either, but I did get a whole list of errors like the one below, after I deleted the testpicture.jpg from my data directory and then clicked on the thumbnail that was still there after Scan Directories Now. In album 0-199 a new picture called testpicture2.jpg has not appeared in the album.

-- "glassicnut" above is my user name for my internet provider. - I DID get a new password from them after the file loss as well as a new ftp location (that may not be correct in the restored files)
