Strange Problem (renamed a folder)...
Ok, let me see if I can explain this correctly...
I shoot dance pictures so when I started with PHPAlbum I created a folder called "Dance" that help other folders of dance events for the 2007-2008 season. As the new, 2008-2009, season came on I realized I needed to change this so I simply aliased my "Dance" folder as "Dance 07-08" and then created the new "Dance 08-09" folder and everything was grand.
I then realized that the ordering of my albums keyed off the folder name which placed the "Dance" folder out of order from other folders (not really the point, but it's what caused this). So I went in and renamed that original "Dance" folder directly to "Dance 07-08" and scanned galleries a hundred times (exaggeration). This is causing most of the folders (albums) under the newly renamed "Dance 07-08" folder to show as broken link icons. The images, once clicked on, won't show either. The images are there and directly accessible A couple of the folders show fine under the newly renamed "Dance 07-08" folder.
I attempted to reverse what I had done and rename the folder back to "Dance" and the problem persisted. I tried to go in and delete the data files to reset the album, but I lose all my Users (unacceptable). I tried to delete all data files and leave the data files for users in place without success (I think I might now know exactly which files to keep/delete here).
I would really like to get this album back showing. I don't want to lose my users though. I'm not afraid to go in and manually edit the data files if I have to.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I don't get really what you
I don't get really what you mean, but why didn't you just ad a new folder 08-09 or 09-10 in the folder "dance"? You then have a folder dance 07-08 and a folder dance 08-09 in which you can upload the pictures of season 08-09.

Well... I originally create
Well...
I originally create the "Dance" folder.
Inside that folder I created all the folder for the 2007-2008 events.
Once the 2008-2009 events started I had the dilemma of having a "Dance" folder full of folders from 2007-2008 already.
I wanted the yearly separation and did not want to move ALL the 2007-2008 folders.
It was an absences of forethought on my part really.
What I ment was the
What I ment was the following structure:
Dance
+---- 2007-2008
| +------ picture folder 1
| +------ picture folder 2
| etc.
|
+---- 2008-2009
| +------ picture folder 1
| +------ picture folder 2
| etc.
|
+---- 2009-2010
+------ picture folder 1
+------ picture folder 2

Yes I completely understand.
Yes I completely understand. And if I would have thought better I could have done that.
What I had at the end of the 2007-2008 season was something like this:
Dance
+----Winter Recital (picture folder)
+----Competition Dress Rehearsal (picture folder)
+----Athens Competition (picture folder)
+----Guinette Competition (picture folder)
+----Clayton Competition (picture folder)
+----Spring Recital (picture folder)
+----etc,etc,etc...many more albums (picture folders)
In order for me to do a master "Dance" folder setup I would have to move all those 2007-2008 folders into a "Dance 07-08" folder under "Dance" like you have illustrated. Through FTP this is a matter of deleting all the folders, creating the proper structure, and reuploading a few thousand pictures. This lengthy solution would have been better than a broken album, but I didn't know I would break it at the time.
Through php it's just create
Through php it's just create a new folder i.e. "dance 07-08" and select all folders you want to move and just place them in the right folder. You don't have to delete anything.
