How create thumbnails without G2 library

My webserver doesn't provide the GD library. Can I use phpAlbum anyhow?
I would to generate my thumbnails manually changing any code? Thanks for the reply!
PA works only with GD2, as

If you do not have this, you should use something like JAlbum. This is Photo Album generator which generates everything for you, and you can upload static html pages and pictures to your site.
